- I already have conventional mechanical water/heat meters. Do they need to be changed to new "smart" ones?Not necessarily. If your counters have a pulse output (so-called reed switch or dry contact), our Nodes for connecting sensors (pulse recorders) can be connected to them. They read pulses and transmit them over a radio channel, turning a regular meter into a "smart" one.
- Is it possible to integrate your systems with our internal software (1C, ERP, CRM, SCADA)?Yes, our system has an open API (Application Programming Interface). You can easily set up automatic transmission of data and reports to any of your accounting systems or SCADA platforms to automate billing and control.
- Is it possible to replace the battery in the sensor yourself when it runs out?Yes, most models use standard industrial lithium power cells (for example, AA or C standard Li-SOCl2 at 3.6V). The replacement is simple, but after it it is important to check the tightness of the case (rubber seal) so that the device does not lose its moisture protection.

- Is your equipment compatible with counters from other manufacturers via RS-485?Yes, our modems and converters support industry standard protocols (eg Modbus RTU). We have ready-made firmware for the most popular electricity, gas and heat meters on the market. If you have specific equipment, we can adapt the protocol to your request.
- What are "Inclination Sensors" and "Distance and Level Sensors" and where are they used?Tilt sensors monitor the position of objects (for example, the opening of manhole covers, gates, the tilt of power line supports or poles). Distance and level sensors (ultrasonic or laser) measure the level of liquid or bulk materials in tanks, septic tanks, silo pits or the fullness of waste tanks.
- What happens to the data if the connection to the server or base station is temporarily lost?Most of our devices and accounting nodes have non-volatile internal memory (archive). If the connection disappears, the device continues to record indicators. As soon as the network is restored, the sensor automatically downloads the entire accumulated archive to the server without data loss.
- What is the signal transmission range of LoRaWAN wireless sensors?In a direct line of sight (in an open area), the signal can reach 10–15 km. In conditions of dense urban development or industrial sector, the real range is from 1 to 3 km. The LoRaWAN signal has a high penetrating power, so it "penetrates" basements and reinforced concrete floors.
- What is the warranty on Polymetrica equipment?The standard warranty for our IoT equipment is 12 or 24 months (depending on the specific device model) from the date of sale, provided that the installation and operating instructions are followed.
- What level of protection against moisture and dust do the sensors have for installation on the street or in wells?Devices for severe operating conditions have protection class IP67 or IP68. This means that they are completely dustproof and can withstand even short-term or long-term inundation with water, which often happens in flooded wells or basements.
- Where does the sensor data come from and where can I see it?Data is sent to a cloud or local monitoring platform. You get access to a personal account (via a browser or mobile application) where you can see graphs, current indicators, generate reports for water utilities/energy distribution, and also set up instant notifications.
- Which communication technology is better to choose for my object: LoRaWAN or NB-IoT?It all depends on the infrastructure. LoRaWAN is ideal if you want to build your own independent network in an enterprise or in a residential complex without subscription fees to operators (you will need to install your own gateway). NB-IoT and GSM use ready-made tower infrastructure of mobile operators - this is convenient if your sensors are scattered throughout the city or country, but there will be a monthly subscription fee for each SIM card.
- Will the sensors work in deep basements or wells underground?Thus, the LoRaWAN and NB-IoT technologies were developed precisely taking into account the difficult conditions of signal transmission (high communication coefficient / Link Budget). However, for reinforced concrete wells with metal hatches, we recommend using sensor models with a remote antenna that can be brought closer to the surface.
